Job Summary
Provide emergency care to patients in a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital with a 5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio. Manage observation, inpatient, and swing patients while coordinating closely with the Therapy department to facilitate return to pre-hospitalization lifestyles. Maintain current RN licensure and obtain required certifications including ACLS, BLS, and PALS within the orientation timeframe. Perform duties requiring prolonged standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and frequent movement. Work rotating nights (7pm-7am), weekends, and holidays as part of a full-time 36-hour schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods each shift
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- Acquisition of other unit specific certifications as required or within the department required timeframe
- Availability for Nights shift (7pm-7am)
- Availability for Rotating weekends and holidays
