Job Summary
Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department at Mercy Hospital Logan County, managing a 5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio for Observation, Inpatient, and Swing patients. Perform duties requiring lifting up to 50 pounds, prolonged standing, and walking while collaborating with the Therapy department to facilitate patient return to pre-hospitalization lifestyles. Maintain current RN licensure and complete required ACLS and BLS certifications. Work nights from 7pm to 7am with rotating weekends and holidays as part of a full-time, 36-hour schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Other unit specific certifications as required or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe
- Nights shift availability (7pm-7am)
- Rotating weekends and holidays availability
Desired Qualifications
- At least six months of experience as an LPN or RN
