Job Summary
Conduct emergency care for patients in the 25-bed Critical Access Hospital, maintaining a 5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio. Manage duties involving lifting up to 50 pounds, prolonged standing, and walking throughout the 7pm-7am night shift. Collaborate with the Therapy department to coordinate patient recovery and facilitate return to pre-hospitalization lifestyle. Obtain and maintain current RN licensure, with new graduates accepted; emergency department experience is preferred. Complete required certifications including ACLS, BLS, and PALS, with training provided during orientation if not already held.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods each shift
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- Acquisition of other unit specific certifications as required or within the department required timeframe
- Availability for Nights shift (7pm-7am)
- Availability for Rotating weekends and holidays
