Job Summary
Conduct emergency department nursing care in a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital with a 5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio. Manage patients in Emergency, Observation, Inpatient, and Swing units while collaborating with Therapy for coordinated recovery. Provide Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support interventions as required. Maintain current RN licensure and complete Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire. Perform physical duties including lifting 50 pounds, prolonged standing, and walking during 7pm to 7am night shifts. Work rotating weekends and holidays as part of the full-time 36-hour schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- Acquisition of other unit specific certifications as required or within department required timeframe
- Availability for Nights, 7pm-7am shifts
- Availability for rotating weekends and holidays
- Ability to work prolonged standing and walking each shift
