Job Summary
Supervise nursing assistants and coordinate care plans for nursing home residents under the Director of Nursing. Administer medications, perform wound care, and conduct ongoing health assessments to prevent unplanned hospital discharges. Develop individualized care plans based on resident status and accurately transcribe physician orders. Manage medication inventory, schedule staff breaks, and resolve employee complaints while ensuring compliance with labor laws and facility policies. Requires current RN license, CPR certification, and preference for two years of long-term care experience. Located in Desoto, MO.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a current state license to practice as a registered nurse (RN)
- Current CPR certification
- Demonstrates knowledge of basic nursing practice
- Interest in gerontological nursing
- Prefer 2 years' experience in a long-term care setting
- Basic computer skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
- Ability to communicate orally and through written reports and other documents relating to resident, staff and others
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of executives, managers, clients, customers, and the public
- Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical journals and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Desired Qualifications
- Additional certification in nursing specialty
