Job Summary
Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, and treatments while ensuring proper storage and security of prescription drugs and biologicals. Record time spent on individual treatments, maintain clean medication carts and refrigerators, and ensure correct disposal of all sharps. Notify physicians of medication refusals, non-compliance, adverse reactions, and key information into computer systems including EMR. Practice and supervise infection control, universal precaution, and safety policies while reacting appropriately to emergency and disaster situations. Perform other duties as necessary and assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Current, active license as an RN
- Current CPR Certification
- Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information in the English language
- Must be easily understood through verbal communication in the English language
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement and weight measurement
- Must have empathy along with exceptional communication and customer service skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in long term geriatric nursing care, preferred
