Job Summary

Provide neonatal patient assessments and develop/implement a care plan for infants in the NICU. Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe delivery of care, attend deliveries, perform neonatal stabilization and admission assessments, administer medications, assist in high-risk deliveries and with resuscitation, delegate work to non-licensed staff, and facilitate discharge planning. Communicate changes to Nurse Practitioner or Neonatologist, support families with homecare education, and assist in transport/stabilization of infants according to hospital policy.

Required Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred
  • Current State of Texas RN license or Compact RN license (Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire if Compact)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
  • Registered Nurse, Certified in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing (RNC-NIC) – preferred
  • S.T.A.B.L.E. Neonatal Education Program Certification – preferred
