Job Summary
As a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN), you will assess neonates, develop and implement plans of care (including discharge planning), and evaluate outcomes. You will attend deliveries and perform neonatal stabilization and admission assessments, administer medications and treatments per hospital policy, assist transport teams in stabilization and transfers, and provide family education and resources for homecare, adoption, and support groups. You will collaborate with Nurse Practitioners or Neonatologists, delegate tasks to non-licensed staff, and assist with high-risk deliveries and resuscitation, contributing to high-quality care within the NICU.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Experience in an acute care setting – preferred
- Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred
- Current State of Texas RN license or Compact RN license (within 90 days of hire for compact license)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
- Registered Nurse, Certified in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing (RNC-NIC) – preferred
- S.T.A.B.L.E. Neonatal Education Program Certification – preferred
