Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients in a 18-bed Med Surg unit and a 5-bed ICU, utilizing the nursing process, technology, and evidence-based practice. Document care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines while reviewing and monitoring therapy and treatment plans. Operate monitors, identify equipment, and assist with transferring patients, including lifting and ambulating individuals. Work full-time night shifts with potential on-call rotation, requiring ability to work weekends and navigate busy hospital environments. This hybrid role supports a gradual transition into critical care, offering up to a $10,000 sign-on bonus for new graduates.
Required Qualifications
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Certification as appropriate for unit or service
- Ability to work nights and/or weekends
- Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
