Job Summary
Deliver direct patient care in the Emergency Department by performing rapid assessment, triage, and prioritization of care for diverse populations. Respond to acute changes, trauma, and life-threatening conditions while interpreting labs, diagnostics, and patient symptoms. Administer medications, IV therapy, and emergency treatments, then educate patients and families on care and discharge instructions. Ensure compliance with EMTALA, HIPAA, and patient safety standards, report suspected abuse, and maintain accurate documentation. Work full-time 12-hour night shifts with a 3x12 schedule at Central Maine Medical Center.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid state RN License
- Current BLS certificate
- Current ACLS certificate
- Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC
- Basic Arrythmia Interpretation
- Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNNC)
Desired Qualifications
- ER setting experience
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- MICN
- EDAP certified
- NRP certificate
- Emergency pediatric course 1 and 2
