Job Summary
Registered Nurse (Neuro Stepdown/SDU) in Marrero, LA offering per-diem shifts with competitive pay and a focus on transitioning neuro patients from ICU to medical-surgical floors. Responsibilities include frequent neurological assessments (every 2-4 hours), continuous telemetry monitoring, administration of anti-epileptics and anticoagulants, post-thrombectomy/craniotomy care for stable patients, assisting with ADLs, patient/family education on stroke prevention and discharge planning, and timely documentation in the EMR. Requires active LA RN license, BLS, 1+ year of relevant experience, and proficiency in telemetry, GCS, neuro assessments, sedation/medication administration, and IV therapy.
Required Qualifications
- RN program completion (Associate's or Bachelor's)
- Active Louisiana RN license
- BLS Certification
- At least one year of relevant experience
- Telemetry monitoring
- Neurological assessments (GCS)
- Oxygen therapy
- Tracheostomy care
- Suctioning
- IV medication administration
- IV drips management (heparin or nicardipine non-titratable)
