Job Summary
Triage patient concerns, perform clinical procedures including injections and wound care, and respond to lifesaving situations per nursing standards. Manage immunization programs by verifying orders, administering vaccines, maintaining inventory, and scheduling recalls while monitoring refrigeration temperatures. Document patient encounters in electronic health records, provide clinical coaching to medical assistants, and cover provider requests for lab results and refills. Initiate patient education plans, support INR patients, and conduct staff immunization trainings. Provide shift coverage at other Neighborhood sites as directed.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in nursing
- CA RN license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through an American Heart Association (AHA)-approved source
- Valid CA driver's license or out of state driver's license for active military personnel/spouses
- Proof of auto insurance
- Ability to lift/carry 20 lbs/weight
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Two years' clinical, outpatient, or general medicine experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior composition, typing and proofreading skills
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to apply critical thinking and sound judgement with confidence
- Knowledgeable about and experience with deliver care while exemplifying compassion to patients and team members
- Knowledgeable about and experience with electronic health records systems
- Ability to apply efficient nursing techniques with confidence
- Ability to use emotional and cultural intelligence to provide appropriate communication and resolve conflicts
- Ability to travel to Neighborhood sites
- Ability to provide leadership and take initiative to advance clinic operations
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent planning and organizational ability
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Ability to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical manner
