Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Emergency provides professional nursing care to patients with complex and unpredictable health needs, including independent nursing services, administration of prescribed treatments, and leadership within the healthcare team. Responsibilities require bilingual English/French communication, adherence to RHPA and PHIA, CPR certification, and participation in Emergency Nursing Orientation (ENO) training levels 1–3. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program
- Registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM)
- CPR Training at the Healthcare Provider level
- Emergency Nursing Orientation (ENO) Level 1 within 2 months of hire, Level 2 and 3 within 12 months
- Bilingualism: English/French (spoken and comprehension)
- Knowledge of RHPA, PHIA, WHMIS, and related acts
- Ability to prioritize care, adapt to changing situations, and work within a healthcare team
- Strong communication skills (oral and written)
- Indigenous language competence and/or Indigenous knowledge is an asset
- ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, EPICC Foundations/Trauma courses are assets
- Proficiency with computer software (Windows, Word, spreadsheets, databases)
- Ability to understand and speak French at a proficiency level for patient/family conversations
