Job Summary
Conduct professional nursing care, manage office operations, and coordinate patient care by interacting with all Clinic departments, hospitals, nursing homes, and home care agencies. Interview for nursing history, assess health knowledge, obtain medical information and vital signs, and document findings in the medical record. Administer medications by all routes except chemotherapy, perform procedures such as catheterization and dressing changes, and provide pre and postoperative instruction. Screen patient problems, evaluate referral needs, and deliver education programs related to prevention and disease management. Serve as a patient advocate, provide emotional support, and assist physicians in examinations and treatments. Maintain knowledge through education programs, adhere to infection control policies, and comply with incident reporting and OSHA training requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Educated as registered nurse by attaining an ADN, diploma or B.S.N.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois
- CPR certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within 30 days of hire
- Practices independent nursing consistent with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act
- Assumes accountability and responsibility for own practice and that, which is delegated
- Ability to serve on appropriate committees
- RN with a Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certificate
