Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the physical, social, and psychological status of postpartum patients using the nursing process and evidence-based practice. Direct interdisciplinary care teams through delegation and collaboration while managing patient priorities, supplies, and resources. Collaboratively develop individualized care plans with patients, families, and physicians, including education and referrals. Evaluate patient responses to interventions, revise care plans as needed, and ensure accurate, timely documentation of all care delivery. Maintain legal and ethical standards, comply with regulatory requirements, and demonstrate critical thinking in emergency situations. Night shift rotation from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. with eligible shift differentials.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Night shift availability (7p-7a)
- Eligibility for shift differentials
- Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment including heavy items
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Ability to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) obtained from an accredited institution
- BSN degree verified
