Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the physical, social, and psychological status of postpartum patients using the nursing process, therapeutic intervention, and evidence-based practice. Direct the interdisciplinary care team through delegation and collaboration while prioritizing patient care delivery, managing time and resources, and coordinating with physicians and support staff. Collaboratively develop individualized care plans involving patient and family education, and revise plans based on clinical outcomes and satisfaction reviews. Maintain accurate and timely documentation, adhere to legal and ethical standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Perform patient transfers, ambulation, and equipment manipulation while operating monitors and accessing information systems. Work the night shift from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. with eligibility for shift differentials. This role supports Intermountain Health's commitment to comprehensive postpartum care at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified
- Night shift 7p-7a

- Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Ability to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
Desired Qualifications
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date
