Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of postpartum patients using the nursing process, therapeutic interventions, and evidence-based practice. Direct the interdisciplinary care team through delegation and collaboration while coordinating patient care delivery, managing time, supplies, and resources. Evaluate patient response to interventions, revise care plans as needed, and provide education, referrals, and follow-up. Maintain accurate documentation, comply with legal and ethical standards, and integrate therapeutic communication with patients, families, and physicians. Perform physical tasks including transferring patients, ambulating, and operating medical equipment. Night shift rotation from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. with eligibility for shift differentials. Requires current Registered Nurse license and BSN.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified
- Night shift 7p-7a

- Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Ability to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
Desired Qualifications
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date
