Job Summary
Record patients' medical history, start IVs, and perform INR and glucose testing while preparing for and assisting physicians in endoscopy procedures. Maintain accurate electronic health records, recover sedated patients, and instruct families on health education and disease prevention. Utilize proper infection control techniques, administer infusions and injections, and manage supplies for the Endoscopy Center. On-call prep includes responding to patient calls during evening, weekend, or holiday shifts. This role supports pediatric patients at Northeast Minneapolis, Vadnais Heights, Lakeville, and Maple Grove sites.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing
- One to two years of clinical experience
- GI related experience
- Experience using an Electronic Health Record
- PACU experience
- Current Minnesota Nursing License
- BLS certification
- PALS certification
- Gastrointestinal system knowledge
- Infection control practices knowledge
- Emergency response knowledge
- Microsoft Office applications knowledge
- Medical terminology knowledge
- Assessment skill
- Compassionate patient care skill
- Active listening skill
- Problem solving, prioritization, and critical thinking skill
- Attention to detail and organization skill
