Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) renders highly professional and technical nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) for patients in a hospital setting. Roles include direct and indirect patient care, supervision of assigned team members, collaboration with multidisciplinary staff, and adherence to unit standards of care. The position requires a BSN in the preferred candidate, Texas RN licensure, BLS certification, and a minimum of 12 months RN experience (or completion of Nurse Residency). Responsibilities emphasize clear communication, relationship-building, accountability, patient experience improvement, professional growth, and contributing to a collaborative team environment. This is a PRN night shift role at Methodist Health System in McKinney, TX.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas
- Current Basic Life Support Certification
- BSN Preferred
- Additional certifications as required by department
- Minimum 12 months RN experience or completion of Nurse Residency Program
- Knowledgeable about hospital policies, procedures, and nursing care standards
