Job Summary
Provide individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at a competent level utilizing the nursing process. Deliver safe and effective care while interacting with the health care team to achieve desired results. Work under general supervision to support families and patients at the Medical University of South Carolina. Schedule 12 weekly hours rotating between 24 or 48-hour shifts over 6 weeks. Requires current BLS certification, and ACLS is required. Associate degree in nursing with a Bachelor's degree preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in nursing
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to lift/lower objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted
- Ability to lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs.
- Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force
- Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes
- Ability to match or discriminate between colors
- Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception
- Good peripheral vision capabilities
- Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction
- Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations
- Ability to work rotating shifts
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Ability to work in a latex safe environment
- Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions
- Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function
- Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required
