Job Summary
Conduct patient care using the nursing process, assess learning needs, and implement teaching strategies for diverse patient, family, and discipline groups. Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources while serving as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team. Evaluate and promote change to achieve optimal outcomes, adapt behavior to specific patient populations, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Perform related duties as required, including exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous medications within a patient care area.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to present information clearly and professionally
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to be self-directed
- Ability to demonstrate good judgement
- Ability to lift 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to lift 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly
- Residence in Louisiana (not in Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, or Washington D.C.)
