Job Summary
Registered Nurse in Medical Oncology providing direct nursing care and coordination of care with the healthcare team. Assess patient condition on admission and during shifts, administer medications, monitor therapeutic responses, document care, educate patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures, and collaborate with management to ensure high-quality patient care. Requires RN licensure in Texas or a compact state, BCLS, and completion of a chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration course within 6 months. ADN or BSN required; 1-2 years nursing experience preferred. Strong emphasis on patient education, team collaboration, and use of clinical knowledge to support patient outcomes.
Required Qualifications
- RN licensed in state of Texas/Compact state
- BCLS
- Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Course (Complete within 6 months from hire)
- ADN or BSN
