Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care and maintain professional accountability for assigned patients on the Medical Oncology floor. Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards, including Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, and Emotional Support assessments. This role requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Candidates must hold a current RN license and may need certifications such as OCN or CPHON.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- One or more of the following certifications: ENPC, TNCC, CPHON, OCN, Sugar/Temperature/Airway/Blood Pressure/Lab Work/Emotional Support Six Assessment & Care Modules, or other unit-specific certifications as required
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods during each shift
