Job Summary
Provide nursing support in a physician's office; assist physicians and mid-level practitioners with patient care and exams; prepare pediatric/adult patients for exams; document patient history and chief complaint; review and record current medications, vital signs, and growth statistics as needed; provide and document thorough patient and family education; document telephone calls/interactions; schedule surgeries and pre-op labs/x-rays when Central Scheduler is unavailable; obtain pre-op instructions; perform prescription refills with physician approval; ensure lab/x-ray results are reviewed by the physician; maintain clean/stocked exam rooms; conduct telephone triage and relay information to appropriate physicians; explain/obtain ABN from Medicare patients; assist with insurance and disability forms; participate in departmental cleaning and contribute to policy updates; manage care of walk-in nurse-only visits; supervise non-licensed staff; participate in on-call rotation; contribute to ongoing quality assurance and organizational improvement in a Tremont/Hopedale, IL clinic and satellite offices as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid state of Illinois Registered Nurse license
- CPR/AED certification (or the ability to obtain upon hire)
