Registered Nurse Med-Surg Trauma Spine

Registered Nurse for Med-Surg Trauma Spine unit in Mission Health’s Asheville/NC service area. Provides comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients with medical, surgical, trauma, and spine conditions in a fast-paced acute care setting. Responsibilities include thorough patient assessments, developing and implementing individualized plans of care, administering medications and treatments, monitoring responses, escalating changes in condition, documentation in EHR, infection prevention, wound care, pre-/post-operative care, pain management, patient and family education, discharge planning, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. Collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, case managers, and support staff to coordinate care and support safe transitions through the continuum of care. Emphasizes teamwork, patient safety, and ongoing professional development; supports precepting new team members and engages in competency development.
