Job Summary
Assess, plan, deliver, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care for post-operative patients across orthopedic, neurology, urology, GI, plastics, vascular, and bariatric specialties. Collect and analyze patient health data, develop individualized plans of care, and implement interventions while evaluating progress toward goals. Direct and supervise patient care provided by LPNs and support personnel 100% of the time. Adhere to research-based practice standards, advocate for patient autonomy, and ensure informed consent for procedures. Provide proof of current licensure, complete required unit credentialing, and participate in annual educational activities.
Required Qualifications
- 2 year / Associate degree in Nursing
- Vocational / Technical Diploma Professional Nursing Program
- Minimum 3 years Registered Nurse Experience
- 1 year must have been in a relevant practice area
- Must be able to perform as a preceptor
- Current NYS license as a Registered Nurse
- BLS certification
- Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects
- Occasional balancing, climbing, crouching, kneeling, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching
- Frequent fit testing
- Constant typing, grasping, hearing, repetitive motion, seeing/ monitor/ computer use, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, walking
- Occasional radiation/radiant energy
- Frequent bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure
- Occasional noise, vibration, wet and/or humid
- Frequent odors
- Occasional Travel
Desired Qualifications
- 4 year / Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Previous experience as a charge nurse/leadership role
- Other certifications may be needed based on department requirements
