Registered Nurse Med Surg Ortho Trauma

Provide nursing care for adult patients on a Med Surg Ortho Trauma unit in an acute-care setting. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans; administer medications and treatments; monitor patient status; respond to changes in condition; collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and support staff to coordinate safe, effective care, facilitate timely discharges, and support patient outcomes. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, post-operative care, pain management, mobility and fall prevention, wound care, and discharge instructions. Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record. Work in a collaborative environment with opportunities for ongoing professional development; comfortable with 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
