Registered Nurse Med-Surg Ortho

Provide evidence-based nursing care to adult medical-surgical and orthopedic patients on a busy Med-Surg Ortho unit, performing comprehensive assessments, planning and implementing individualized care plans, administering medications and treatments, managing IVs and drains, monitoring patient responses, and coordinating care transitions to promote safe discharges. Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, therapists, case managers, pharmacists, and support staff; document assessments and interventions in the EHR; participate in bedside shift reports and interdisciplinary rounds; uphold infection prevention and fall-reduction practices; educate patients and families on disease processes, medications, wound care, mobility precautions, and discharge instructions. Engage in quality improvement initiatives and professional development to enhance patient safety and outcomes; contribute to a positive unit culture and continuous learning.
