Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of patients with complex medical needs on the Neuro Trauma Med-Surg unit, including stroke, head injuries, spinal cord injuries, and post-operative spine surgeries. Utilize the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration to coordinate care for a diverse population in a fast-paced clinical setting. Manage patient care delivery through delegation, prioritization, and effective documentation while maintaining legal and ethical standards. This role supports St. Mary's Regional Hospital as the only Comprehensive Stroke Center within a 240-mile radius, serving western Colorado and eastern Utah.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified
Desired Qualifications
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date
