Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with complex medical needs, including strokes, head injuries, spinal cord injuries, and post-operative spine surgeries. Direct the interdisciplinary care team via delegation and coordination while managing time, supplies, and resources to deliver patient-centered care in a fast-paced 32-bed Neuro Trauma Med-Surg unit. Provide or delegate care consistent with evidence-based practice, guidelines of care, and professional licensure provisions. Evaluate patient response to interventions and revise the plan of care as indicated. Promote the nursing profession, integrate legal and ethical standards into practice, and provide accurate, timely documentation. Collaborate with physicians, family members, and support staff to develop individualized plans of care and prepare patients for follow-up.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified
Desired Qualifications
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date
