Job Summary
Registered Nurse (RN) in Med Surg - Neuro/Ortho, days shift. Provides highly professional nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) to assigned patients, directs and supervises other team members, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care. Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment, communicates clearly with patients and families, supports professional growth, and contributes to team success. Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, Texas RN license, BLS certification, and 12+ months of RN experience (BSN preferred).
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- Current license to practice professional nursing in the state of Texas
- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
- BSN preferred
- Minimum 12 months RN experience or completion of Nurse Residency Program
- Knowledgeable about hospital policies, procedures, and nursing care standards
- Ability to communicate clearly and build collaborative relationships
- Ability to take initiative for professional growth and development
- Experience providing direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
- Ability to supervise other assigned team members
- Ability to provide age-appropriate care as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to document and communicate patient information accurately
- Ability to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
