Job Summary
Registered Nurse – Med Surg responsible for delivering patient-centered care using the nursing process, maintaining patient rights and confidentiality, and coordinating care with other departments. Responsibilities include evaluating care effectiveness of direct care givers, ensuring professional accountability for patient care, and supporting Mercy’s mission and service standards. Requires ability to perform duties with appropriate certifications as determined by unit needs; position emphasizes collaboration within a caring, collaborative team while providing support for patients across a medical-surgical unit.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- RN licensure in the hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Certification requirements may include ACLS, NRP, ENPC, TNCC, CPHON, OCN, PALS, PEARS, S.T.A.B.L.E., C-EFM as required by unit/position
