Job Summary
Per-diem Registered Nurse for MED/SURG at a Medical Center in Selma, AL. Responsibilities include managing and coordinating comprehensive nursing care for a diverse patient caseload with acute and chronic conditions or post-surgical recovery; administering medications, IV therapies, and treatments while monitoring patient response; performing systematic patient assessments and communicating with the healthcare team; educating patients and families on disease processes, post-discharge care, medications, and self-management; prioritizing and delegating tasks to support staff (LPNs, CNAs) to ensure timely care. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in nursing, an Alabama RN license, minimum 6 months RN experience, current CPR certification, and credentialing such as background check, TB test, annual physical, and vaccination as specified by the facility or agency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program
- Active, unencumbered RN license from the state of Alabama
- Minimum of 6 months RN work experience
- Current CPR certification (Basic Life Support preferred)
- Clean background check
- Negative TB test results
- Annual physical
- COVID-19 vaccination
