Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients by assessing conditions, administering medications and IV fluids, and performing procedures such as dressing changes. Collaborate with physicians and ancillary staff to develop care plans while documenting all interventions accurately in the electronic health record. Educate patients and families on treatments and discharge planning while safely managing assignments in a high-acuity environment. Ensure compliance with hospital policies and participate in unit-based quality initiatives and shared governance meetings. Precept newly hired nurses and nursing students as assigned. This full-time, first-shift role (7am–7pm) reports to the Med Surg Department Manager at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Cynthiana, Kentucky.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky with no restrictions
- BLS
- ACLS within 6 months
- Arrhythmia within 1 year
- One (1) year of acute care nursing experience preferred
- Associate Degree with related experience
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork abilities
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems and standard hospital equipment
- Ability to manage multiple patients and adapt to changing priorities in a busy unit
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- PALS preferred
