Job Summary
Conduct daily supervision of nursing care staff on a 30-bed unit, including direct observation of LPN and CNA competency and verification of accurate documentation. Manage multiple assignments while ensuring compliance with state regulations, infection control protocols, and resident safety standards. Calculate nursing personnel on duty, attend daily and clinical meetings, and review all admissions the day after they occur. Handle incidents, abuse allegations, and complaints by communicating with relevant disciplines, and assist with patient and family education. Coordinate care and activities of daily living with therapy and activity staff, and pass shift information to the oncoming manager. Report quality care concerns to the Director of Nursing and adhere to HIPAA and electronic health record security standards.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing
- Must have a current license to practice nursing in the State of Tennessee with no restrictions
- 3-5 years of experience in a supervisor role in nursing as a Registered Nurse in a SNF/NF setting
- Must maintain nursing education hours/credits necessary to satisfy state requirements
- Must attend mandatory staff training and staff meetings
- Must attend assigned committee meetings
- Must provide services without harassment or discrimination on the basis of age, gender, race, religion, color, national origin or disability
- Must be familiar with and practice in adherence to national standards for electronic health care transactions and code sets, unique health identifiers, and security, including passwords and user ID codes, in compliance with the Privacy Rule and HIPAA

- Must pass drug screening
- Must pass background check
- Must be available to work another shift or day as necessary
