Job Summary
Collaborate with medical, mental health, and correctional staff to provide quality care while maintaining a safe environment. Manage daily unit operations including scheduling, budgeting, and record-keeping, while recruiting, training, and supervising nursing staff to ensure competency. Conduct daily clinical rounds to review documentation and patient care plans, assist with triage and minor procedures, and monitor compliance with ACA and NCCHC standards. Ensure pharmaceuticals and equipment are stocked and maintain accurate patient records. Participate in regular meetings and proactively address safety hazards. Requires a Florida RN license, BLS certification, and night shift availability.
Required Qualifications
- Holds a current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse within state of Florida.
- Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (American Heart Association required)
- Must pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screening
- Must have the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds), bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks like CPR, all while maintaining good balance and endurance throughout a shift.
Desired Qualifications
- Progressive administrative/management experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Strong clinical skills and progressive management experience providing comprehensive medical, dental, and mental healthcare services within a correctional healthcare or acute care setting
- Ability to manage complex staffing matrices and clinical supplies
- Excellent communication skills with proven experience managing and training medical staff
- Knowledge of nursing practice principles and techniques, occupational health and safety standards, infectious disease management, applicable health care laws, regulations, and procedures for direct health care services
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Integrity, professionalism and ability to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements
