Job Summary
The Registered Nurse Manager will manage and direct the Nursing Services Department, providing direct nursing care, overseeing nursing personnel, handling resident admissions and discharges, and ensuring compliance with nursing standards. Responsibilities include developing nursing policies, participating in facility surveys, supporting quality assurance, staffing, recruitment of nursing staff, ensuring appropriate training, and maintaining sufficient medical supplies. Candidates must have a high school diploma, an accredited nursing program degree, an active RN license, supervisory experience, and strong leadership skills.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Must possess an active license to practice as a Registered Nurse license valid in this state
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care
- Possess leadership and supervisory ability and a willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility preferred.
- One year of experience as a supervisor in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other related health care facility.
