Job Summary
Conduct holistic assessments of patients' physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs while recognizing and reporting abnormal data to physicians. Develop and implement individualized care plans with measurable goals, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning and provide ongoing patient education. Perform evidence-based interventions, delegate tasks appropriately, and respond to emergency situations with controlled precision. Document nursing processes accurately in the electronic medical record and participate in shift reports, council meetings, and unit-based performance improvement initiatives. Maintain competency through required certifications, staff meetings, and peer review activities while adhering to hospital policies and the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
Required Qualifications
- BSN within 5 years of the date of hire
- Current licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
- BLS certification prior to patient contact
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
- Certification in area of clinical specialty within five years of eligibility
- Ability to accept and implement change
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse setting
- 100% on-time completion and attendance for annual education day
Desired Qualifications
- MSN or DNP
- Membership in professional organizations
- Certification specific to work area of professional practice when eligible
- Participation in the professional advancement program
