Job Summary
Conduct holistic assessments of patients' physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs while identifying safety risks and reporting abnormal data to physicians. Implement evidence-based nursing interventions, educate patients and families, and manage emergency situations with precision. Evaluate care effectiveness against established goals, adjust plans based on patient response, and maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record. Lead multidisciplinary teams through SBAR handoffs, participate in shift reports and care conferences, and mentor peers and nursing students. Engage in unit-based performance improvement projects, staff meetings, and council activities to support professional growth and competency maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- BSN within 5 years of the date of hire
- Current licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
- BLS certification prior to patient contact
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
- Certification in area of clinical specialty within five years of eligibility
- Ability to accept and implement change
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse setting
Desired Qualifications
- MSN or DNP
- Membership in professional organizations

- Certification specific to work area of professional practice when eligible
