Job Summary
Conduct holistic assessments of patients' physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs while identifying safety risks and reporting abnormal data to physicians. Implement evidence-based care plans through multidisciplinary collaboration, delegate actions appropriately, and provide individualized education to patients and families. Evaluate nursing interventions continuously during handoffs and rounding to adjust plans based on patient response. Document all care activities accurately in the electronic medical record and participate in unit-based performance improvement projects and staff meetings. Maintain competency in point-of-care testing and adhere to The Christ Hospital's patient and family-centered model of care.
Required Qualifications
- BSN within 5 years of the date of hire
- Current licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
- BLS certification prior to patient contact
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
- Certification in area of clinical specialty within five years of eligibility
- 100% on-time completion and attendance for annual education day
- Ability to accept and implement change
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse setting
Desired Qualifications
- MSN or DNP
- Membership in professional organizations
- Certification specific to work area of professional practice when eligible
- Participation in the professional advancement program
- Participation in chosen professional organizations and conferences
- Participation in development and maintenance of research activities
