Registered Nurse - Main General Surgery - Full Time - Nights

Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate holistic patient care for Main General Surgery units while adhering to the Ohio Nurse Practice Act and TCH's Patient and Family Centered model. Perform and delegate nursing actions, respond to emergency situations with controlled precision, and provide individualized education to patients and families. Document the nursing process accurately in the electronic medical record and maintain continuity through handoff reports and rounding. Participate in 75% of staff and council meetings, lead performance improvement initiatives, and mentor peers and nursing students. Hold a current Ohio RN license, BLS certification, and complete required ACLS training within six months.
Required Qualifications
- BSN within 5 years of the date of hire
- Current licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
- BLS certification prior to patient contact
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
- Certification in area of clinical specialty within five years of eligibility
- 100% on-time completion and attendance for annual education day
- Ability to accept and implement change
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse setting
Desired Qualifications
- MSN or DNP
- Membership in professional organizations
- Certification specific to work area of professional practice when eligible
