Job Summary
Conduct holistic assessments of patients' physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs while reporting abnormal data and collaborating with the multidisciplinary team. Implement evidence-based nursing interventions, delegate actions appropriately, and provide individualized education based on the patient's plan of care. Evaluate the effectiveness of care interventions and adjust plans continuously during handoffs, rounding, and transfers. Document all nursing processes accurately in the electronic medical record and participate in staff meetings, council activities, and performance improvement projects. Maintain competency through required certifications, self-review activities, and mentorship of peers and nursing students.
Required Qualifications
- BSN within 5 years of the date of hire
- Current licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
- BLS certification prior to patient contact
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
- Certification in area of clinical specialty within five years of eligibility
- 100% on-time completion and attendance for annual education day
- Ability to accept and implement change
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse setting
Desired Qualifications
- MSN or DNP
- Membership in professional organizations
- Certification specific to work area of professional practice when eligible
- Participation in the professional advancement program
- Participation in chosen professional organizations and conferences
