Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for Main General Surgery units using The Christ Hospital Professional Practice Model. Perform holistic physical, psychosocial, and spiritual assessments; report abnormal data to physicians; and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team via SBAR handoffs. Execute evidence-based interventions, provide individualized education, and manage safety risks while responding to emergency situations with controlled precision. Document all care accurately in the electronic medical record and participate in 75% of staff and council meetings. Maintain competency through Healthstream education and contribute to performance improvement projects. Requires current Ohio RN licensure, BLS certification, and a BSN within five years of hire. Full-time night shift.
Required Qualifications
- BSN within 5 years of the date of hire
- Current licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
- BLS certification prior to patient contact
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
- Certification in area of clinical specialty within five years of eligibility
- 100% on-time completion and attendance for annual education day
- Ability to accept and implement change
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse setting
