Job Summary
Conduct holistic assessments of patients' physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs while identifying safety risks and reporting abnormal data to physicians. Implement evidence-based nursing interventions, delegate tasks appropriately, and provide individualized education to patients and families. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams using SBAR handoff processes to establish care plans, prioritize tasks during shift reports, and initiate discharge planning. Continuously evaluate care effectiveness, document interventions in the electronic medical record, and participate in unit-based activities, council meetings, and performance improvement projects. Maintain competency through required certifications, staff meetings, and peer review activities while adhering to hospital policies and professional standards.
Required Qualifications
- BSN within 5 years of the date of hire
- Current licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
- BLS certification prior to patient contact
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
- Certification in area of clinical specialty within five years of eligibility
- 100% on-time completion and attendance for annual education day
- Ability to accept and implement change
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse setting
