Job Summary
Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for cardiovascular recovery and intensive care patients, including those post-open heart surgery, ventricular assist device implantation, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement. Monitor hemodynamic needs, manage invasive lines and medications, and adjust interventions based on patient outcomes and evidence-based practices. Document the nursing process and care plans accurately in the electronic medical record while adhering to organizational policies. Lead performance improvement initiatives, mentor peers, and advocate for high reliability principles to enhance operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Current RN licensure in the state of employment
- BLS required before patient contact
- ACLS required within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
- Unit specific certifications may be required
