Job Summary

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate holistic patient care for the ambulatory procedure department using The Christ Hospital Professional Practice Model. Perform and delegate nursing actions based on physician orders while responding to emergency situations with controlled precision. Provide ongoing individualized education to patients and families, document all interventions in the electronic medical record, and proactively identify safety risks. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team via SBAR handoff processes, participate in shift reports and care conferences, and initiate discharge planning upon admission. Mentor peers, lead performance improvement initiatives, and maintain competency through required certifications and annual education.

Required Qualifications

  • current licensure to practice nursing in Ohio
  • BSN within 5 years of the date of hire
  • BLS certification prior to patient contact
  • ACLS certification within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas
  • certification in area of clinical specialty within five years of eligibility
  • 75% participation in staff meetings
  • 75% participation in council meetings
  • participation in unit based activities/initiatives for performance improvement, evidence based projects, and research as needed
  • participation in council activities and task forces to improve competencies of self, co-workers, and staff members related to patient care
  • participation in self and peer review activities
  • participation in the professional advancement program
  • participation in chosen professional organizations and conferences
  • participation in development and maintenance of research activities
  • participation in community service activities
  • participation in 100% on-time completion and attendance for annual education day
