Job Summary
Provide comprehensive nursing care aligned with College of Nurses of Ontario standards and NWHC policies. Deliver cardiac monitoring, IV, phlebotomy, and defibrillation services, obtaining certifications as needed. Interpret ECGs and cardiac arrhythmias while maintaining competency in maternal child, TNCC, ENPC, and PALS. Work across all hospital areas, functioning as an effective interdisciplinary team member and assuming charge roles. Maintain excellent verbal and written communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills. Participate in departmental educational activities and demonstrate commitment to continuing education. Submit cover letter and resume to BambooHR by August 21, 2026, and provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check and Pre-Employment Health Assessment.
Required Qualifications
- Current Ontario RN Certificate of Competence
- Current BCLS
- MORE OB
- ACLS or willing to obtain within 6 months
- Maternal Child Course or relevant clinical experience for exemption
- NRP
- Cardiac monitoring skills (ECG application & interpretation, cardiac arrhythmia interpretation) or commitment to obtain within 6 months
- Competent to start IV or commitment to obtain within 6 months
- Competent in phlebotomy or commitment to obtain within 6 months
- Certified for defibrillation or competent in 6 months
- TNCC recommended
- ENPC/PALS recommended
- Must be prepared to work in all areas of the Hospital
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Proven organizational and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to function as an effective interdisciplinary team member
- Ability to assume a leadership/charge role
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and willingness to actively participate in departmental educational activities
- Satisfactory performance and attendance required
- Satisfactory Reference Checks required prior to start date
- Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired
- Must be available to work all 3 shifts and 2 out of 4 weekends as per Collective Agreement
