Registered Nurse

Provides professional nursing care through skillful assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with facility or department policies and procedures. Directs and manages the care of designated patients. Utilizes effective and appropriate communication styles. Assists in maintaining a safe work environment and maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the population of patients served. Demonstrates leadership and team building through teaching and mentoring new colleagues and department interns, with precepting and delegated responsibilities as assigned. Applies ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics, engages in evidence-based practice and research when applicable, coordinates patient and family education, and collaborates with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes. Utilizes technology to optimize care delivery and participates in performance improvement initiatives to support unit and hospital goals.
