Job Summary
Lead ED nursing team at Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital. Plan and provide advanced and/or specialized nursing care for patients, in accordance with Nursing Clinical Ladder Program and NC Board of Nursing guidelines, while providing local leadership in administration, education, informatics and quality. Identify care needs across the continuum, develop standards of care and patient/family education, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, mentor staff, oversee evidence-based practice, coordinate educational activities, monitor regulatory compliance, and guide personnel actions. Facilitate nursing education, informatics adoption, quality improvement initiatives, and leadership at departmental, institutional, or regional levels. Requires BSN, NC RN licensure, BLS, and at least three years of nursing experience with leadership responsibilities; salary details not disclosed in posting. Relocation assistance up to $8,000 and a commitment bonus of at least $15,000 (based on experience) are offered if eligible.
Required Qualifications
- BSN degree from accredited nursing program
- Current or compact RN licensure in North Carolina
- BLS required
- Three years of nursing experience; Clinical Nurse II/III eligible for CN IV Leader
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN)
- Leadership/management experience or demonstrated leadership responsibilities in nursing
- Ability to lead across disciplines and mentor staff
- Knowledge of nursing process, patient care standards, evidence-based practice
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (TJC and others)
- Ability to plan, deliver education and staff development activities
- Proficiency with clinical information systems and technology adoption
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to conduct performance reviews and personnel actions
- Commitment to quality improvement and patient safety
- Education in-house or with subject matter experts for staff education
- Ability to supervise and coach nursing staff
- BSN required; CN IV leadership role requires leadership competencies
- Current NC RN license; BLS required
- Knowledge of informatics and clinical systems
