Job Summary
The Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery provides essential nursing care during labor, postpartum, and neonatal stages. Responsibilities include monitoring patients during labor, postpartum, and post-surgical recovery, performing assessments, and responding to emergencies. The nurse collaborates with healthcare teams, administers medications, and provides individualized patient education. Required skills include knowledge of nursing principles, emergency response, and effective communication. Candidates must have a valid RN license in Alaska, BLS certification, and preferably 1 year of clinical experience. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are offered.
Required Qualifications
- Current full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or other U.S. state required
- BLS certification until ACLS, PALS, and NRP are obtained
- 1 year clinical nurse experience preferred
- ACLS within the first six months of employment and biannually thereafter
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in specialty nursing
- Knowledge of nursing care principles and practices
- Competency to recognize adverse signs in emergency situations
Additional Requirements
- Direct hire must have applied for an Alaska nursing license before start date
- Agency staff must have an active Alaska license
